According to a media report, a police officer honoured for his bravery regularly had sex with a 15-year old girl.
This New Jersey county detective not only had a sexual relationship with an underage girl, but she fell pregnant, and after the birth of the baby he signed the child’s birth certificate.
Apparently, the relationship lasts from September last year to August. He has been, charged with sexual assault of a minor and endangering the welfare of a child because of sexual conduct.
Here we, have a 32-year-old police officer, won a meritorious service award 2013, described as a highly motivated officer, who truly loves his job. How do you equate those positive attributes to an individual that believes at 32 the only person he could find is a 15-year old child. Personally, I cannot understand.
Police officers are supposed to protect and serve the whole community. They should not abuse vulnerable teenagers, even if that child threw herself at him. He is the adult and knows right from wrong. What he did to this 15-year old is deplorable, and he should b,e given a custodial sentence.
Further media reports state the Camden County prosecutor has confirmed that the detective has been arrested, suspended without pay from his $65,792 job at the county police department.
