According to media report the United Kingdom, especially the Capital London as seen a scourge of acid attacks that have been undertaken by the member of the public and there seems to be no let up in this new method of criminal activities.

There have been seven attacks in July alone in areas such as East London, Barking and Dagenham, Bethnal Green and other streets in London.  These attacks are so vicious that some Local Authorities are threatening to remove tenants from their dwellings if they are found guilty of acid attacks.

The corrosive attributes of acid make it extremely dangerous when it was used on an individual are a group of people, it has been said by victims that they felt as if they skins were peeling off once they come in contact with the liquid.

Apparently, a Plastic Surgeon commented that the number of patients that he has treated following acid attacks has reached epidemic proportions, acid attacks have left some individuals blind and with horrific scars.

I cannot begin to fathom the depth of depravity that human beings are capable of committing against each other.  Where did we lose our sense of decency that we can find it so easy to destroy the lives of other without a thought,  Why would anyone believe that it would be acceptable to throw a corrosive liquid such as acid on another person?

The most alarming thing is the fact that the frequency of these acts are increasing on a daily basis, and here we go again asking the government to ban individuals from carrying acid on their person and also to ensure that anyone convicted of using acid should be incarcerated for at least 20 years with no hope of parole.  Individuals that maim another should forfeit their right to be among society or live within our communities.
