According to media reports, delegates at the Canadian Anglican conference voted against allowing same-sex marriage.  There, was a comment that suggests the Anglicans do not believe that God created two Adams.

One individual commented on the fact that he could not understand why people see gay marriage as separation from God and love.

It is not difficult to comprehend why many people are against such union.  Firstly, if one believes in the teachings of the Bible, then Leviticus 18 verse 22 states “Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind: it is an abomination.”  Therefore, it is not too much of a stretch of the imagination to believe in the Bible homosexuality was not condoned.

Society has always decided what they think is moral and what is not, and there are times that we have to question the validity of what are sometimes imposed upon us.  But when it comes to homosexuality, this is an emotive topic, because there are those that are intolerant of anyone that is different.

Personally, I do not believe it is my right to condone another person’s way of life or impose my beliefs on them.  But we cannot bury our head in the sand and think that the issue surrounds homosexuality is going to disappears.

There are countries where just the mention of the word put one in danger, and some individual would do bodily harm if they were confronted with an individual that is so-called gay.

I believe that we have a right to exist irrespective of colour, creed, religion or sexual orientation.  However, the fact that I believe in the Bible and have my Christian views does not give me carte blanc to condemn people of a different creed.

It is important that we do not take matters in our hands, because the same Bible that tells us that a man should not lay with another man is the very same Bible in Roman 12 verse 19 “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord”

My interpretation of that is although God may have given the instructions concerning a man with the man he also states categorically that vengeance is his, and he does not expect a mere mortal to carry out any vengeance for him, he has the capability to do it himself.

We cannot condemn the Anglicans because of the stance they take, they have every right in a free society to determine that they are not going to condone or give legitimacy to something that they clearly do not believe in, this is what we get in a democracy.
