There are times when an item of news appear in the media, and it gives us cause for concerns, allow us to look at the world in a negative light, and this story is one such case.

According to a media report, a 101-year-old man was found guilty of past child sex offences.  The individual from Birmingham was found guilty of 21 counts of abusive behaviour against two young girls in the 1970s and 80s.

I am in agreement that everyone should be, irrespective of their age be held responsible for their actions, and if they commit a crime, they must face the consequences of their behaviour.  However, in my opinion, pushiment should be given to individuals that have the capacity to understand and acknowledge why they are, punished.

No one is going to convince me that a 101-year-old man has the capability to figure out what was happening to him entirely.  I cannot believe it took these women 40 years to recognise the man and only last year decided to report the matter to the police.  Apparently, they saw him on Facebook celebrating his 100 birthday and decide they should now report his criminal activities.

Do not get me wrong I am all for people taking responsibility, but this is simply too much.  So lock him up in prison, and the British taxpayers will have to fork out the resources to keep him incarcerated until he dies.
