An elderly couple caused havoc in a hotel and was fined £5,000.
Apparently, the 72-year-old man and his 69-year-old wife got drunk and preceded to run around the hotel naked, threatening staff with a pair of scissors.
According to a media report, the couple smashed a glass door, threatened to shoot the hotel staff, then fled the hotel. They then flagged down police and accused the staff of trying to kill them.
Police smelling booze on the pair, breathalysed the 72-year-old and found he was twice over the drinking limit.
It is so ironic that we seem to believe that only young people are capable of juvenile behaviour, this case demonstrates that energetic elderly people are just as capable to behave in a counterproductive way, especially when alcohol is involved.
I hope that they learn their lesson.
