Our Christians teachings make us aware that envy, greed and jealousy are tools the Devil use to tempt us every day.
The Bible in the of James 3:14-16 warns us about envy it said But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
We are not supposed to be jealous or envy others we need to be joyful as the scripture says in Philippians 2:3 Let nothing be, done through strife or vainglory, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
When we give generously to our fellow human beings we do so without greed or envy as the book of 1 Corinthians 13:4 told us that Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth, not itself, is not puffed up.
Romans 13:13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. 1 Peter 4:8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
Proverbs 6:34-35 For jealousy is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance. He will not regard any ransom; neither will he rest content, though thou givest many gifts.
Titus 3:3 For we also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
Mighty God, I pray for us all that if we have envy, greed, malice, jealousy, spite and any other negative things that the adversary put into our way I asked that you destroy them. Lord, we thank you for the shedding blood of Jesus Christ, so that we can seek your blessings for sins known or unknown, in the name of our saviour Amen.
