There are going to be a significant number of people reading this story and believe the headmaster of this particular school is heartless, schoolbehave in a draconian way and he should be sympathetic, but I agree with the stance he took.

A media report, states that police called to intervene when parents of Hartsdown Academy, Margate, Kent was at the school gate protesting that the new headmaster is acting in a Gestapo fashion for sending children home because they did not correctly dress according to the uniform code.

The fact, the Headmaster is new, parents believe he is his flexing his muscles, but they had over six weeks to ensure that their children went back to school dressed in the school’s uniform.  Here, is where there is such a vast difference in today’s students, parents, and teachers.

In my school days, there is no way that a parent would protest if their child were sent home because they did not wear the school uniform. The parents are demonstrating against the wishes of the head, in my opinion, is giving the students the wrong impression.  

School children today needs to know that both their parents and their teachers are working in one accord and although it is not the student’s fault that they were not properly attired to go to school, by protesting the parents are telling the children that even if you are wrong, you should protest.

What they should have done is to get in touch with the school and ask for a meeting with the Head to resolve their grievances but protesting like that is definitely the wrong way.
