It is not a joke; it is not a wind-up.  According to a media report, a 23-year-old man called a sexual predator was banned from having sex without first informing the police.

Apparently, the man was cleared by the Crown courts on six charges of rape, two of assault by penetration and two sexual assault.  However, Cheshire police brought civil proceedings against him and were given a temporary (SRO) sex risk order.

The individual will not be able to be in any pub after 9 pm and will have to contact the police if he decides to have sex.  There will be full hearing regarding the interim Sex Risk Order, on November 2, at Chester Magistrate’s Court.
