Primarily, society sees women as the carer of children, and if they are not with partner or husbands, they are called a single parent and are man, children, single, parententitled to child support.

Raising children is no longer a female thing, in today’s communities, there are thousands of single fathers taking care of their children and doing a remarkable job.  So if society believes that it is the responsibility of parents to pay child support then is should be no different for a man to get the same treatment.

I have looked at some countries and the system they used to collect child support, and although it is designed to collect child support from either party, in my opinion, I believe that the organisation tends to go after fathers more than the mother.

However, in the United States, there is no gender requirement for child support. So a parent can pay the other child support.  The presumption is the child needs a certain amount of financial assistance, and whoever is the custodial parent the other should pay.

In my opinion, single fathers are entitled to child support and the fact that they are male should not preclude them from expecting the same criteria which applied to single mothers.
