Sorry, you cannot have a baby, you are biological twins. That must be the worse statement any Doctor would have to say to a couple, but that was exactly what an IVF Doctor had to say to a married couple that was trying to use IVF to conceive a baby.

Apparently, the twins lost their biological parents following an automobile accident.  They were both adopted by different families and according to the media report neither adopted family was made aware the child they were adopting had a twin.

Whether it is faith or karma the two met while in college, cemented a relationship and married which, The assume that they were going to spend their life together and all that was missing was a baby to seal the deal.

Unable to get pregnant naturally the couple seek to use IVF treatment and that was where their world fell apart when they were told that not only were they brother and sister but they are biological twins.

How does one cope with a situation like that, how can this couple continue their marriage knowing that they had intimate relations with each other? Of course, there are documented evidence where a brother molested a sibling, but that is done in a conscious manner and in most cases when it comes to light it destroy the family unit.

I cannot begin to understand what this married couple is going through, a situation such as this must rock the foundation of the marriage.  They are innocent people caught up in circumstances that they did not create and now they are going to have to try and pick up the shattered pieces of a life they were not prepared for. These situations may be rare occurrences but one can only imagine what the impact on a couple will be once they are given this devastating news.

Where do they go, Who do they turn to, how can they continue their lives?  My prayers go out to them and I hope they will find the strength to resolve this major issue in their lives and be able to move on with their life and have the courage to be brother and sister without the guilt baggage.
