Apparently, figures released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), implied, according to a media report, that the most miserable people live in the borough of Greenwich and Lambeth.

In my opinion, I would like to know how the (ONS) arrive at that figure.  I reside in the London Borough of Lambeth for over 39 years; I fail to see this spate of miserable people. In fact, I find the people in Lambeth vibrant and full of life.

I am not suggesting that the ONS is wrong in their assessment, maybe the people they talk to are very miserable, but in my opinion, it does not reflect the entire borough of Lambeth.

The ONS figures show that Greenwich is number one and Lambeth is number two on the miserable, list. I cannot comment on whether the people in Greenwich is unhappy, what I can, however, say it that passing through the borough and stopping at the shops I have always find the people polite, friendly and with a smile on their face.

What I find, and is very sceptical about is the boroughs that are labelled miserable people, Greenwich, Lambeth, Islington, Haringey, and Croydon.  But the happiest is Redbridge, Richmond-upon-Thames, and Newham.

Maybe, I am just paranoid, but it does not take Einstien to figure out why, if there are miserable people in boroughs as mentioned, then there are economic reasons why the people in those sections of London are inclined to be miserable.
