Understanding What The Bible Tell You About Politics. Churches and other types of religious denominations seem to be unable to recognise that whatever occurs in the world can be found in the Bible.

The Bible, the undisputed word of God, document creation, love, wars, famine, pestilences, drought, rebirth, domination, persecution, politics and death. Virtually any situation or circumstances that we face today, you can find scriptures that document them, written in the Bible over two thousand years ago.

Some see the Bible as just a storybook written by people trying to deceive the world that there is no God. However, the same Bible Psalm 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, ” There is no God. They are corrupt. They have done abominable works; none doeth good. So the warning of what they are going to say is given to us in the scripture.

Today, we will look at what the Bible says about politics and its impact on our lives.

Romans 13:1-7 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
Whosoever, therefore, resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that shall receive to themselves damnation.

For rulers are not a terror to good works, but the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? Do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath but also for conscience sake. For this cause, pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. Render, therefore to all their dues: a tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

As documented in Romans 13, 1-7, God gave politicians a code to live by serving the people and the people obligations to the politicians. Both the politicians and the people will face the consequences should they break the covenant they should abide by. Therefore, when individuals choose to involve themselves in the political arena, they say they will be carrying out God’s work for the people.

Titus 3:9 But avoid foolish questions, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. Here in the scripture, another instruction to politicians, a warning of what they should not do.

If you have any doubts that God knew that we would have political parties, read the words in the book of Matthew 22:17-21 Tell us, therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not? But Jesus perceived their wickedness and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?

Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? They say unto him, Caesar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.

Politicians are elected to help the people, so what lessons are we to learn from Deuteronomy 15:7-11 If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother: But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth.

Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou givest him nought, and he cries unto the Lord against thee, and it is a sin unto thee. Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the Lord thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto.

For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, thy poor, and thy needy, in thy land.

Therefore, brethren, no one should be poor or needy because we elect our politicians to ensure the people are taking care of. When politicians choose to ignore God’s wishes and allow poverty, homelessness, diseases, hunger, and all society’s failings, they will have to answer to the Almighty.

One more piece of God instructions to a politician is found here in the book of Psalm 94:20-21 Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frame mischief by a law? They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous and condemn the innocent blood.

Politicians are warned in many scriptures of the Bible about inequality. There are political figures who will not believe God’s word, so did the people who did not believe Noah.
