Singing is an essential part of the Christian faith, because to sing is an uplifting thing to do, and, God ordains it.
Singing is not an option in Scripture. It’s a command Psalm 98:4 – Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. Psalm 100:1-2 – Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Colossians 3:16 – Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
It is, said that God’s people are not just invited to sing; we are commanded to sing. When we sing, we’re doing what God asks of us. When we sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs together, we are, promised that the Word of Christ would dwell in us richly, which is what we should crave as believers.
It is another Biblical example, of why God desires us to sing as is written here in Psalm 105:1-2 – O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.
We are full with the holy spirit, we impart the message of God through singing, and we are, told in the book of Ephesians 5:19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.
Mighty God, I shall raise my voice in song to glorify your name. Let me use this tool that you have given me to sing your glory, and I shall obey and make a joyful noise unto you from whence cometh my help in Jesus name Amen.
