Sometimes we get so bug down with trying to function in a world full of woes, mayhem and chaos that God is speaking to us and we are not listening.
When we pray, we are sending a prayer to God and asking him to intervene in our lives and our problems. He takes the time to listen and hear us, but we forget to give him the same attention.
Understanding that God will sometimes not answer our prayer for what we believe that we want. Considering that he has the whole picture, our want can sometimes become a noose around our neck, and God will never put his children in those positions.
Both the book of John and Mark advises us that we need listening. John 8:47 He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye, therefore, hear them not, because ye are not of God. Mark 4:24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be, measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be, given.
God told us in the book of Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hears my voice, and open the door, I will come into him and will sup with him, and he with me. Then further in the book of Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
The vast majority of the Book of God is telling us not just to pray to the Almighty for help, but that we must listen and pay attention to His voice because He speaks to us every day and when we do not listen to the trials and tribulation of a sinful world become so much more hard to bear.
Mighty God, I pray that you will open up my ears so that I can hear your voice so that you can direct me into the path of righteousness. I only ask for what I need, and I beg you to give me the knowledge and understanding to hear your answer. I am blessed if you do not answer all that I pray for because you have the whole of not just my life but my future in your hands. Let me thank you, Lord, for unanswered prayers.
