Satan is an extremely talented supernatural being. Ignoring his influence in our environment makes it easy for him to use is many weapons against you.
For centuries the Devil study the behaviour of human beings, and he knows the ways that we behave. He is aware of what we crave, and the lengths we will go to acquire fame, notoriety and wealth.
Satan recognises that the seven deadly sins, greed, wrath, lust, sloth, gluttony, pride, envy are part and parcel of our world, and he can use these sins to control our lives. If you allow the Devil to use those sins to control your life, then you will be betraying the Creator.
Lust, it is a passion for sexual promiscuity. 2 Timothy 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Gluttony is excessive and ongoing eating of food or drink. 1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
Greed is an excessive pursuit of material goods. Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness. Be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Sloth is extreme laziness or the failure to act and utilise one’s talents. Proverbs 6:6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:
Wrath is intense anger and hates towards another person. Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is, written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
Envy is the intense desire to have things that someone else possesses. Proverbs 8:13 The fears of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, and the froward mouth do I hate.
Pride is the excessive view of one’s self without regard for others. Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Galatians 6:3 For if a man thinks himself to be something when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
Eternal Father, I thank you for bringing these scriptures to me. For opening my eyes to what I need to do to achieve my goal in this life. Recognising that the Devil is blocking my path and trusting you to move the barriers out of my way.
