According to the word of God gambling becomes a sin when we become obsessive. The obsession with wanting too much money can tarnish our relationship with God.

The scripture and Bible verses below gives us an insight into why gambling can be sinful. These six Bible verses are a testament to how God sees any obsession and to gamble his one of those.

Clearly, God is warning us in 1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Deuteronomy 8:18 But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

Ecclesiastes 5:10 He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver, nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Luke 12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
