As children of God, we sometimes ask ourselves the question, why is the world so divided and what can we do to bring back people into the fold of the living God.
We need to turn to the Bible to find the answer, and once we do, it will give us the ability to recognise and understand the importance of why this world is so divided.
Satan is not asleep, and I reminded my readers in another post that the Devil knows exactly what human frailties are, and he has been working on them. Greed, lust, vanity, sloth, envy to name a few and he has pushed them and use is followers to flout misinformation and conspiracies, and it is working.
So let us look at what the Bible tells us about division and what it will do to us.
1 Corinthians 1:10-13 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and the same judgment.
For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. Now, this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
Romans 16:17-18 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
Titus 3:9-11 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. A man that is a heretic after the first and second admonition rejects; Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.
Luke 11:17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falleth.
Jude 16-19 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.
But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These are they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
