You are now asking the question of how can I get these heart from the living God. So let us turn to the Bible for the answers.
A Loving Heart
Love is a defining and compelling trait that sets all Jesus followers apart from the world. Jesus in the book of John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples if ye have love one to another.
1 John 4:7-8 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God, and every one that loveth is born of God and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
1 John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love, and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
A Willing Heart
God does not want you to obey reluctantly or unwillingly; even though He knows at times, we will not understand His commands.
Philippians 2:12-13 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
A discerning heart
Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? We must ask God to give us discernment between good and evil, light and dark.
Matthew 7:3-5 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the glow out of thine eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
Psalm 119:66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments.
1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are, gone out into the world.
