Everyday worries and persistent fears, anxiety is a daily struggle for many people. Stress affects many of us daily.
Anxiety manifests itself in many ways from the lack of a home, employment, finance, debts, poverty, betrayal and the political climate that one have to endure. So while the medical community strives to provide solutions for those who are suffering from anxiety, God has provided a different kind of healing.
Let us look at the many ways in which the Bible, the word of God tells us what we can do when we feel anxious.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the Spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and a sound mind.
Psalm 42:5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted in me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your anxiety upon him; for he careth for you.
Philippians 4:6 Be careful about nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Proverbs 3:5-8 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be, uttered.
Eternal Father and Everlasting God, I cast all my anxieties upon your shoulders. I know that you will make them disappear and all that cause my worries will be no more. Father, I thank you for your blessing, grace, love and understanding about what I am going through with the knowledge that all will be well with me and my soul, in Jesus name Amen.
