Is God Unleashing His Wrath Upon A Unbelieving World? The world is going through an unprecedented trauma at the moment, with fires, floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, and other catastrophes; so is God angry with us and what does the Bible tells us about the Creator’s wrath.

Humanity is under the illusion that because God created us in his image and loves us unconditionally, he will not punish us or put obstacles in our way. But we would be very wrong. God gave us instructions to live by, and we are his children, and although he also gave us free will, he knew that we would need guidance with that free will, which is why He gave us many Biblical instructions to guide our lives.

Let us turn to the Bible to understand the wrath of God, why he has given us the instructions, and what will disobedience means for eternal life.

Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness.

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Romans 12:17-21 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirsts, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Nahum 1:2-6 God is jealous, and the Lord revengeth; the Lord revengeth, and is furious; the Lord will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies. The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth. The mountains quake at him, the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein. Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? His fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.

Ezekiel 25:17 And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes, and they shall know that I am the Lord when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.

Psalm 7:11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

Hebrews 10:26-31 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins. But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses. Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will repay, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

So now that you know how jealous our God is, he will not compromise on the instructions he gave to us.  We are watching the world burn, floods destroying villages, hurricanes happening more frequently than before, and fires worldwide destroying towns, cities, villages, and forests.  Let us not fool ourselves that God is not angry with how we corrupt God’s creations.
