Heavenly Father, we are aware of Job’s unshakeable faith in you, so much so that Satan ‘the adversary’ could not break his faith and beliefs in your holy name.

Lord, we know about the ‘patience of Job’, defined as the ability to remain patient and do what you think you should do despite having many problems. Patient and uncomplaining.

Eternal God, the adversaries tempt us, with poverty, illness, destitution, violence and vile crimes against each other. I am praying that you give us the strength to overcome all of the woes that the Devil has cast upon your children.

Job, was so steadfast in his beliefs unshaken by the all that the Devil did to him. I am praying for that kind of faith every day. Father, we know that you allowed the Devil to do all the evil things he did to Job because you knew that his faith was such that nothing the Devil did could break him down no matter what it was.

We pray today that we may live under the teachings of James 5:11-15 11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful and of tender mercy.

12 But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation. 13 Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any merry? Let him sing psalms.

14 Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
