Given what the world is experiencing with COVID 19, there is every reason for us to understand that the second coming of our Lord and Saviour is not fiction or fairytale.
The world is in a lockdown our freedom has been curtailed, children cannot go to school social distancing in operation, staying home is becoming the norm, and our mental health is slowly deteriorating daily.
How can we associate these events with the second coming of Christ? What Biblical facts we have to confirm that the second coming is happening.
Matthew 24:6-8 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Coronavirus is devastating the planet, and there is nowhere that his safe. COVID 19, is causing havoc, mayhem, death and sorrow in all regions and is ferocious in the way it attacks our very survival.
2 Timothy 3:1-2 This also know that in the last days, perilous times shall come. And men shall be lovers of themselves covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, and unholy.
Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
The internet, youtube and other social media show young people having visions and predicting things that they find very hard to explain. We should not marvel because it is, indicated in the Bible that these things would happen.
Mark 13:21-23 And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not: For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
Revelation 9:20 And the rest of the men who were not killed by these plagues and repented not. That they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk.
Could God be given us an early warning here in the book of 2 Chronicles 7:13-15 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attend unto the prayer that is, made in this place.
As we try to adjust our lives to meet the new criteria that are, forced upon us, let’s all remember that the second coming of God will bring problems for us all. Our faith is the only thing that will keep us safe and secure in the knowledge; there is a better eternal life waiting with our Creator.
