Although parenting may be one of the hardest jobs there is, the Bible confirms that children are blessings. There are a number, of scripture that acts as the blueprint for effective parenting, and the word of God can offer parents encouragement and wisdom.

Here in Proverbs 22:6 we are told that we should train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Ephesians 6:4 Here God is telling parents, saying And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

The book of Exodus 20:12 is telling us that we need to teach our children about how to honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

Proverbs 13:24 Reminds us that if we do not demonstrate to our children right from wrong then, in fact, we do not love them.

Proverbs 29:15 Is saying to parents that they should talk to their children to give them wisdom: because a child left alone without guidance will bring his parents to shame.

Leviticus 19:29 Tells us that we cannot use our children to do things that would cause them to sin because if we do, then the nation becomes full of wickedness.

Proverbs 22:15 Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; parents need to use corrective, measures to drive it far from them.
