Why Can You not Serve God Half-Heartedly Or Haphazardly? Human beings, God creation, believe that we must only serve God when necessary and in trouble.

We need to understand the sacrifice that we must make if we serve God, follow his instructions and recognise that the path to everlasting life will never be easy. The most heinous thing that you have to face in serving God is none other than the Devil.

For centuries Satan has been studying God’s creation, and he recognises some of the obstacles he can put in our way. Envy, greed, malice, vanity and gluttony are some of the tools the Devil uses to distract us from serving God. The most potent is greed, the love for money, which most of God’s children commit crimes to achieve.

So let us look at what the Bible says about serving God half-heartedly. Half measures will avail you nothing. Half efforts of your actions, desires, and plans without the infusion of a heart that fully trusts God will not yield anything.

Luke 16:13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

James 1:5-6 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Revelation 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Hebrews 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds.

Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now, if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his blood.

Jude 3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

1 Peter 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it is tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

Hebrews 11:3 Through faith, we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God so that things that are seen were not made of items that do appear.

2 Thessalonians 1:4 So that we glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure.
