Battling our own internal demons and overcoming the adversary

Day by day the internal demons like hate, jealousy, greed, envy and pride are emotions that we battle with, and if we are not careful, we can lose our place beside God because we do not know how to overcome these demons.

Children of God, there is a battle going on, both within ourselves and outside, and the Devil is the one who is working overtime to ensure that he can destroy who we are, what we stand for and create doubt about God in our hearts. We must never allow this evil spirit that God throws out of his kingdom to use his trickery to fool us.

The question is still how can we battle these human emotions and find peace with God. The scripture told us in 1 John 2:16 that the pride of life or the lust of the flesh comes not from the father, but the world, The Bible also reminds in the book of James 3:14-16 That if we have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in our hearts, we should not boast and be false to the truth. It is not the wisdom that comes down from above but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and vile practice.

We must understand that jealousy, envy, greed, hatred and selfishness are all part and parcel of the Devil’s weapon that he uses every day to tempt us into sin. God understands our needs; he knows what is required for us to live and look after our family and friends. We must trust him to provide for those needs.

Do not envy anyone, or have evil thoughts about anyone because you deemed that they have too much. Be content with what God sees fit to give to you and trust that he will generate more and once you realise that the Devil is defeated because he cannot use those weapons against you.

Mighty God, I pray for strength and for you to empower me to fight the Devil continually. Bring your children under your protection, remove the influence of Satan from amongst them and give us peace so we can flourish on Earth and when you call us to your kingdom, in Jesus name Amen.
