Coping, When Your Faith Is Tested Beyond What You Can Endure. Sometimes your faith is tested so much that we believe we cannot endure. The most fundamental aspect of having your faith tested to the limit is that sometimes it is the very people you care for, and love is the ones who are severely testing your faith.
Testing your faith is a tool that the Devil uses, and he loves nothing better than to try to cause children of God to sin against the Holy Spirit, and what better way to do so but put obstacles in your way.
Let us look at what the Bible tells us about the testing of our faith and the remedy that we need to apply when we find ourselves in this position.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
James 1:3 Knowing this that the trying of your faith worketh patience. Acts 14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples and encouraging them to continue in the faith, and that we must enter into the kingdom of God through many tribulations.
Matthew 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place, and it shall remove, and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Psalm 91:1-5 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Highest shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord; He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler and the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, nor for the arrow that flieth by day.
Here in the Bible, the word of God, we are given so many examples as to how to overcome the Devil when he put obstacles in your way to test your faith and trust in God. The only weapon that we have against Satan and his band of deceitful followers is the Bible, and we cannot rest on our laurel when our faith is tested; we must cling to the word of God, and we will overcome.
1 Peter 5:9 Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
Hebrews 11:17-18 By faith, Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son. Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:
Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
James 1:2-4 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations—knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. Amen
