Praying can sometimes feel overwhelming, and we sometimes believe that if we do not continuously pray, we are offending God. Nothing could be further from the truth.
If you are feeling overwhelmed, just whisper Jesus name. Psalm 147:3-5 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. He knows the number of the stars; he calls them all by their names. Great is our Lord, and of high power: his understanding is infinite.
Should you feel that you do not have words to pray, Jesus is praying for you. Romans 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that He has risen again, who is at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Sometimes you feel too stressed to pray, give yourself the kindness and comfort you so generously give others. Ironically, the times we most need God’s support are the times we deprive ourselves of soul-nurturing time. 2 Corinthians 1:4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we are comforted of God.
You feel numb and don’t want to pray, invite Jesus into your world. Hebrews 4:11-12 Let us labour, therefore, to enter into that rest, lest any man falls after the same example of unbelief. For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than a two-edged sword, piercing the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intentions of your heart.
If you’re too exhausted to pray, stop and rest. 1 Kings 19:7 And the angel of the Lord came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too long for thee. God needs you to take care of yourself, so do not worry if you feel too exhausted and stressed to pray the Almighty God is still with you.
