There is some level that human beings can sink to, and this is one of them.  It is hard to wrap your head around and even harder to A prisoner in the jail.comprehend why we are so uncaring.

According to a news report, a 17-year-old, who was shot in the back and lay dying in the street, when a 31-year-old man is seeing the victim, but instead of calling for help, he preceded to steal the dying teenager’s mobile phone.

The 31-year-old man’s action was deplorable, inhumane.  Who knows if he had called for help, he could have saved the teen’s life.  Then, to add insult to injury, he took away a piece of evidence the police could have used to help identified who shot the teenager.

In my opinion, jailing him for three years and three months, is not enough time for him to reflect and how his selfishness may have caused a life.  Even if the teenagers had died, when he came across him lying on the street, that was someone’s son, brother or friend, another human being.

I believe our society as gone selfish, and we seem only to care about ourselves and these incidents make one realize the depravity that is in our communities, and if we continue, down this path, we will eventually annihilate ourselves.
