How Are We To Deal With Death And What the Bible Say? Death will come to us all regardless of who and what we are. But it is important to understand that when death comes, how do we cope and why losing someone hurts so much.

The Bible in Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not anything, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.

We were created from the dust of the earth where God breathed into us life, and therefore the Bible told us in Ecclesiastes 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Knowing that death is not the final stage of our life, we can be assured about this. It is tough when we lose someone we love; the pain can be unbearable, but we get hope when we read the book of John 5:28-29 Marvel, not at this: for the hour is coming, in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice. And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

We know how sin came into our world, we also understand, as stated in Romans 6: 23, that the wages of sin are death, but the gift of God is eternal life. The Bible explain to us in Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one person sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. Regardless of how we are, death is passed upon us because of sin.

Understanding that we are living with hope even when death comes upon us. Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, neither death, life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come. Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 14:8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.

1 Corinthians 15:51-54 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead, shall be raised incorruptible, and we, shall be changed.

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the written word, Death is swallowed up in victory.

1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

We must realise that there is life after death, and this is what the Bible tell us is going to happen.

John 11:25-26 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

1 Corinthians 15:21 For since by man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead.

My Final Thoughts About Death

It has been said that when you are born twice (physically and spiritually), you die once. The opposite is also true, and if you are born only once, you will die twice. Do not concern yourself with death concern yourselves with making sure that you will be resurrected in Christ and put on eternal life.
