A man who groomed a 12-year old schoolgirl he met in Surbiton and began chatting to via Facebook, had his two years prison sentence suspended for 18 months.
According to media sources, during his social media chats, he encourages the girl to meet him in his back garden where they would share kiss and cuddles, after which he started sending her sexually explicit messages.
The child’s parent found out about the pair when they notice their daughter was leaving the house at night, they confronted the individual. However, it was only after she confided in a member of staff at her school that the police was called.
Upon, investigation the individual was arrested and charged, he pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual activities and inciting a girl under the age of 13.
There has to be something fundamentally wrong with a 26-year old that believes it is appropriate to establish any romantic or sexual advances with a 12-year old.
I am not satisfied with him getting his sentence suspended, even if he had to sign the sex offender register for ten years, once, in my opinion, child sex predators are identified, charged and convicted they should go straight to prison.
